From stone to sea

A day that begins in Labin and ends in the water.

RABAC.TRAVEL · Journal

It is easy to arrange your days around separate attractions. Here, the better idea is to connect them.

Start in Labin while the old town is cool. Walk past the historic gate, galleries and stone façades, and find a viewpoint where the coast spreads across the horizon. The town has a tougher history beneath the postcard beauty: mining, work and reinvention remain part of its character.

From stone to sea.

Later, return downhill towards Rabac. You can follow a marked trail if conditions and fitness permit, or take the road. The sea, which seemed abstract from the top of the ridge, becomes tangible when your feet reach the pebbles. A swim now feels like the last sentence of the day rather than its main event.
